Cat show in North Carolina

We are so proud of ourselves and our beans are even more proud of us. We went to an American Cat Fanciers Association show at the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center near Concord, North Carolina this weekend. Before we went, Herbie and I both had to have our claws clipped and we had to take a b-a-t-h! NOT FUN! However it was worth it as I was in seven finals and my son, Herbie, was in four finals. He is now a Grand Champion in ACFA!!! I am so proud of him!! I need one more All Breed final with a fifth place finish or better to be a Grand Champion.

In Memoriam-Evita

Photo Hunt: Water

PhotoHunt

At the Castle, we like water very much and we like to drink it fresh--straight from the faucet. Sometimes it's difficult to get to the faucet due to the crowd already there.

I usually do get to the faucet and I have the fresh water all to myself.

I am just fascinated with water; where it comes from and where it goes. I also try figure out the beans' insistence in getting in the water. They must be crazy!

So I touch it to see what the water sensation feels like on my paw.

Usually, though, I get wet, but to drink the fresh water, I endure it.

Puurrrrs and Puurrrrayers for Evita

Alexi says:
Blu Cat Man noticed that Evita was not feeling good last night. So Mombean took Evita to the v-e-t this morning. There, she was examined by our v-e-t. She is dehydrated. They ran bloodwork on Evita, too. Her kidneys are not working very well. She will be at the v-e-t-s overnight getting fluids. Puurs and puurayers for my Mombean and Daddy (Blu Cat Man) that they make the right choice and not let Evita suffer. Evita has lived a good long life. She is eleven years old almost twelve.

Photo Hunters--Emotion-in memory of Kali

We are purring and purraying ofur Kali, who is being helped to the Bridge today. Blu Cat Man has attempted to compose a poem:

It's hard to say good bye
When a pet is ill;
We see the memories
And our tears begin to spill.

The Lord is good we know,
To animals as well as men
And must remind ourselves
That one day we'll see them again.

We know our pet has crossed the Bridge
And is on the other shore.
They're playing with other friends,
And waiting for us to come o'er.

When that day must come
For you and for me;
Then we'll see our lovely pet
And we'll rejoice with family.

Furry Fighter Friday

This tribute is in memory of Storm, the Furry Fighter who won two battles against cancer. Her body had no more to give and she is now at the Bridge where other friends are to greet her. She leaves behind her, Castle, her two mommies, and all of us at the Cat Blogosphere, who are winners because we were fortunate enough to have known her. She taught us how to live our lives and how to be very brave. Storm, we love you; we miss you; and we look forward to the day when we will be reunited.

The Last Battle" - Author Unknown

If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep,

Then will you do what must be done,

For this -- the last battle -- I have won!

You will be sad I understand,

But don't let grief then stay your hand,

For on this day, more than the rest,

Your love and friendship must stand the test.

We have had so many happy years,

You wouldn't want me to suffer so.

When the time comes, please, let me go.

Take me to where to my needs they'll tend,

Only, stay with me till the end

And hold me firm and speak to me

Until my eyes no longer see.

I know in time you will agree

It is a kindness you do to me.

Although my tail its last has waved,

From pain and suffering I have been saved.

Don't grieve that it must be you

Who has to decide this thing to do;

We've been so close -- we two -- these years,

Don't let your heart hold any tears.

I'm FAMOUS!

Alexi says: I'm FAMOUS! I am a cover cat on this month's issue of Catosphere. Thanks to Crizcats for this special honor. While I am furry pleased, my momma days are over. The mommas at the Castle are Annie and Molly. To answer the question about whether or not black plus white equals grey, go to this site for Russian coat color genetics.

Easy like Sunday morning

It doesn't get any easier than this.

Molly's kittens

Molly says:
Mombean took some pics of me and my babees. Aren't they the cutest? I am purty cute, too!!

Annie's boy kitten

Annie says: We hope you enjoy this movie of one of my kittens. This is the boy kitten. Sorry for the lousy focus. Mombean is just starting to learn how to take moovies. Only yesterday, she figgered out how to upload them to our 'puter.

Annie's kittens!

We'll have photos of Molly's kittens soon!

Photo Hunters: Bad Hair

Russians do not have bad hair. Even as kittens, they are perfectly coiffed.

Gabrielle, my daughter says, "Russians don't have bad hair, but I don't know about those humans."

The humans would not allow any photos of them to be included in this post.

We are puhleezed to tell efurryone that Molly and Bug are the proud parents of two darling blue kittens born on May 29th. Mom and babies are fine. Mombean thinks one is a boy and the other is a girl.

Also, Annie and Midnight's two black kittens are doing well and growing bigger every day. They are almost three weeks old.

Meezer Rule Wednesday

Albert Schweitzer was right:
There are two means of refuge from the miseries of life: music and cats.

Blogblast for peace

For everything there is a season,
And a time for every matter under heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die;
A time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal;
A time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to seek, and a time to lose;
A time to keep, and a time to throw away;
A time to tear, and a time to sew;
A time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate,
A time for war, and a time for peace.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

If there is to be peace in the world,
There must be peace in the nations.

If there is to be peace in the nations,
There must be peace in the cities.

If there is to be peace in the cities,
There must be peace between neighbors.

If there is to be peace between neighbors,
There must be peace in the home.

If there is to be peace in the home,
There must be peace in the heart.
