Results of the Cape Catteras Cat Show

The Tar Heel Cat Fanciers put on their first Cat show on July 21-22nd at the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center in Concord, NC. To tell you about the results of the show is Alexi (pictured above).
We are very proud of ourselves! Dani, one of the blue males here--and quite handsome (if on ly the doctor could put back in what he took out, we could have beautiful babies) received one final in which he placed 7th. Midnight, a black cat and shy, did fairly well receiving one best New Breed or Color ribbon. I, myself, while not bragging received four finals in which I placed 10th, 5th, 4th, and 3rd. All in all, we had a good time, though Midnight bit Mom's thumb which wasn't pleasant for her. We were especially glad to get home and crash!

Silly is now a Tar Heel!

Krasota Siriusly Silly, our chief roustabout, has gone to a new home in North Carolina. We, his staff, believe he will be happier in a home with fewer cats, (there's only one other cat), and will adjust well there. We, the staff of Krasota Castle, miss him and we've already noticed how quiet the castle is without his antics, and generally cavorting (or is it catvorting?) around. We post these photos in tribute to Silly and send him our love and best wishes.

ACFA Cat show--Concord, NC

We are off to another show next weekend. This is another ACFA show but it is in Concord, North Carolina. It will be at the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center. The show is Cape Catteras Cat Show and the Southeast Regional Awards Banquet. The Tar Heel Cat Fanciers, a new ACFA club is hosting the show. We and the cats are looking forward to it. Showing their stuff will be Alexi, Midnight, and Dani. Dani shows how happy he is about going to this show!

ACFA Cat shows

There has been a question about scoring of the ACFA shows. As readers of this blog know, the cats went to a show in March and will go to another this next weekend...more about that later. We refer anyone who's interested in the American Cat Fanciers Association, their shows, and more can find it here.

The cats are not happy that their webmaster hasn't had any posts since March! They don't understand that taxes were due. They did know that their human grandmother died and they did help Mom get through that process by being thoroughly loving. Their mom is also helping plan and put on an ACFA cat show in North Carolina in two weeks!
Silly, our chief roustabout, is about to go to a new home and while some of the cats are happy about that, the webmaster and his wife know they will miss him. Today, he climbed into the washing machine. Veronica had three kittens this afternoon as well! Mom and children are doing well. We'll attempt to have photos of the children soon.

Show results

We're back from the Blue Ridge Cat Fanciers show in Woodstock, Virginia. This ACFA show is in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. This club really knows how to put on a good show. It's small but really is a honey of a show. Good vendors, good food--the Virginia barbecue was tasty, and friendly exhibitors. We are very proud of our cats. Midnight, our Russian Black, received two second best NBC finals (NBC is New Breed or Color) and one best NBC final. Alexi, our Russian Blue alter received three finals. She received two ninth best alter by two all-breed judges and one fourth best alter by a specialty judge. However, her son, Herbie Love Bug, did really well. He received two fourth best cats from specialty judges; a sixth best cat and a third best cat by allbreed judges, one of whom is the president of ACFA. We are really proud of him!
We can't wait until next year!

On the way up, we went by the Cabarrus Arena and Event Center to see where the new Tarheel Cat Fanciers will hold their first show. It looks like quite a place. After we finished, we headed up toward Virginia and the show.

On the way home, we drove some on the Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park in the Blue Ridge Mountains where the cats saw deer and beautiful vistas of the Valley and Allegheny Mountains to the west, and the to the east, lower elevations. We ate supper in Lexington, Virginia, home of VMI and Washington and Lee University. We stayed in Radford, Virginia, home of Radford University.

We also enjoyed lunch with the cats' great-grandmother at Maggiano's Little Italy in Charlotte, NC.

Cat show!!

The cats are planning a trip to a cat show this weekend! Not all are going--some have to stay home to mind the store, as it were. Going to this ACFA cat show in northern Virginia are Alexi, Herbie Love Bug, and Midnight. Look for Alexi and Herbie Love Bug's photos below. Midnight who chose not to be photographed. Of course, they all have to have baths; have their claws trimmed; and pack their suitcases. They hope you wish them luck.
